“VATSIM is proud to announce that Vienna, Austria has been selected as the venue for the next VATSIM Global Conference (W14).  Scheduled to take place 9 – 11 May 2014, the organisers have been able to secure one of Vienna’s premier locations for this conference.”

C90B for FS9 from Carenado

110341_28Carenado‘s promise to keep supporting the many users of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 is still bearing fruit, this time with the release of the C90B King Air.

The twin executive turboprop comes in six liveries (plus a blank for repainters), plus a wide array of custom gauges, animations and eye candy. 2d panel fans may want to steer clear, though, as the aircraft comes only with 2d pop-ups for some gauges – the rest is available in the VC only.

UK2000 Luton released

110359_gw19Along with Stansted, it may be the butt of many national jokes, but Luton Airport (LTN/EGGW) is one of the busiest in the UK and is home to many budget and regional operators, as well as many business jets and charter aircraft.

As usual with UK2000‘s “Xtreme” scenery packages for FS2004 and X, Luton comes with many custom structures, full custom ground textures and a lot of extra features such as ground traffic, animations and appropriate traffic. Full details can be found here.

  • OSAKA shows some “runway action” from different points of view in the Kansai Airports, with many heavies of a “great variety of airlines”.
  • Turkish Cargo A330-200F shows the flight and aircraft preparations, loading and unloading cargo, during the operations from and to Istanbul, Milan, Bangkok and even more destinations

It’s not always easy to find the flight simulator retated apps in the stores, but when we find one enough interesting to share, we don’t hesitate !

This one works with FSX on iPad 3, iPhone 4 or iPod. iFMS simulates a flight management system with LNAV / VNAV calculations in a Boeing style, with NavDATA updates for the navigation database and with a HSI display available. Another version for X-Plane is being prepared.

If you have used standard instrument departures charts of Paris Charles de Gaulle, you may have noticed the Pontoise VOR often used to guide your turns out of Paris Departure radar.

Just a few thousands feet below your wheels stands the airport LFPT Pontoise Cormeilles-en-Vexin. That’s the actual and freeware FSX project of FROG X.

FSDG’s Germany North released

Mainly thanks to the efforts of one locally based publishing house, Germany is amongst the most populated countries in the world for MS FS scenery add-ons.

FSDG have now entered the arena as well, with Deutschland X North (DEX), the first part of a grand presentation for the entire country in aerial photo-based landclass, with OSM-based linear features, custom autogen, 3d lighting, improved airports and “up to 500″ custom scenery objects within the area. DEX is designed to be compatible with other regional products such as VFR Germany, UTX Europe and GEX, plus can be combined with other add-ons such as German Airfields or Airports series packages.

It is available either as two separate packages covering the Terrain and Landmarks/Airports, or as a single Complete package, all for FSX SP2 or Accel only.
